The NOCN Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management (Construction) is a fully competency-based qualification. It requires learners to generate authentic evidence directly from their current workplace activities to prove their advanced skills, knowledge and understanding in construction contracting operations management.

This NVQ approach ensures that supervisors, managers and senior operatives demonstrate real-world competence in line with current organisational requirements that meet or exceed statutory, legislative and regulatory standards (including CDM, Health & Safety at Work Act, Building Regulations, data protection and environmental legislation).

Unit 2: Managing the Performance of Teams and Individuals in the Workplace

Allocate work to teams and individuals, agree realistic work plans, monitor performance against objectives, and provide constructive feedback in line with organisational aims, policies and values while making best use of resources, abilities and learning opportunities.

Unit 8: Identifying, Assessing and Evaluating Project Requirements in the Workplace

Method: Through a portfolio of evidence (internal assessment), including workplace documents, witness statements, assessor observations, and professional discussions. No exams.

Authenticity: Work must be your own; we'll use tools like video submissions and plagiarism checks.

Grading: Pass/Fail per unit (competent or not yet competent).

Support: Dedicated assessor for feedback; internal verification for quality assurance. Reasonable adjustments/special considerations available per NOCN/SPC policy.

Entry Requirements +

No formal prior qualifications required, but you must be in a relevant construction contracting operations role (or have recent experience) to gather evidence.

Minimum age: 19+

English proficiency: Sufficient for professional reports and communications (support available if needed).

Technology: Access to a computer, reliable internet, and basic digital skills (assessed via our initial suitability assessment).

Occupational competence: You should have experience in areas like estimating, planning, site or contract management. We'll review your pre-enrolment questionnaire to confirm suitability and identify support needs.
